Rest Peacefully Uncle Eden

*Sigh*… Another one has been taken away from us. Few days ago was Pavarotti, now this… Seems like a busy week for Death

Uncle Eden has been with the BLIA organization since I joined the youth group under them. A jolly man in his early 50s, he was always one with the young adults division and brings laughter around us. Though I can’t say much about his health… Uncle (we call the male adults ‘Uncle’ as a respect) Eden was… how should I say this… “large”. Well, you get the picture. With that circumstance also comes with great risk… health risk.

I wont go much into detail on how he passed away but it was so sudden and quick that when I heard the news, I wasn’t able to work the rest of the afternoon properly. Just last Friday, I was able to talk to him and he looked fine and happy. He was already hospitalized 2 months ago and released a few days later. From what I heard, his kidney failed due to virus infection and it spread, other than that, I have no idea. There must have been complications since he never made it to the hospital. He made it to the hospital, but it seems due to complications I don’t know, his condition became worst later on.

Seems like I see death everywhere this year. A very close family friend died this year… in his early teen years! 25 yrs old! Pavarotti, and now Uncle Eden. Makes me see life in a different angle now. Live life everyday as if it will be my last. I do hope he was happy before he passed on. I do remember he liked to sing a certain song that was sang during the Siddhartha musical, The Eigth Noble Path.

In loving memory to you Uncle Eden. Here’s to you! Rest in Peace.

Update: Uncle Eden was cremated today, Sept. 16, 2007. His ashes will be brought to the Chu Un Temple and laid to rest there.
